1st Field campaign for comparison of instruments and exchange of methods will be undertaken as defined with a Milestone (M11) in the MoU of COST action. This activity will take an important role for the main object of the action which is to harmonize observations and to work on snow climatology in Europe in regard to deliverable (D11) "contributions to measurements reports and manuals to standardize measurement protocols will be issued based on the field campaigns results"
1st Field Campaign will be held together with a workshop, WG meetings and MC meeting. The planned dates are 01 - 03 Mar 2016 and will be organized in Erzurum, Turkey. Palandoken (2610 m) and Guzelyayla (2065 m) stations are selected as two main measurement points for field campaign.
National organizations and institutions; Anadolu University (AU), State Hydraulic Work (DSI), Turkish State Meteorological Organization (TSMS) and General Directorate of Agricultural Research and Policies (TAGEM) will support the activity.
Cross group interactions will be provided through WG meetings and MC meeting. Moreover, a workshop on measurements of snow depth, SWE; instrumentation; snow hydrological modeling and snow data assimilation will be organized together with the field campaign. The tentative plan for the field campaign, workshop and meetings is given below and will be provided with detail later on.
